The latest installment of A Very Blue Moon is close to finished. Look for it Friday the 12th.

Under the Wire

Draft Chapter 2 of A Very Blue Moon is ready for view. Like always I need to do some more online editing.

The Old Dog is writing again, or so I hear, but I think it will be a few more days until I have something to work on at the Never So Few website where the second book in that Universe is taking shape. That means I take a day off and work on something else (a short story) before starting on AVBM 3.

I am going to try and maintain a chapter every ten days for one book or the other. I will update again before the next is due.

The Devil in the Mirror

The first chapter of the next book set in the Never So Few Universe just went up today. “The Devil in the Mirror.”

Now I switch gears for a time and work on the next chapter of “A Very Blue Moon.” I have a small start on it so with luck about 10 days.

A Very Blue Moon Chapter 1 is Posted

The first part of the Fifth Cardoman Book is ready in draft. Little did I think three years ago when I started on “Tools of the Trade” that I would end up with a website and be working on a fifth about now. I could have predicted I would be working on a case but never a fifth!

I will leave this rest for a moment because at Never So Few the Old One and I are starting on the second NSF novel. This one will be called “The Devil in the Mirror” and I will link to it when the first chapter is published. I am to write most of the first chapter of that one and have only a bare start. For at least a week that will be my priority. Today I rest and might even work on a post for another of the Old Dog’s websites.

The First Part of A Very Blue Moon

Is almost complete. I had to spend about five days working on some computer problems that I might talk about later but I am back to writing again. Look for the first chapter of AVBM in a couple of days.

Denver TrafCon or a Challenger Starship?

A comment from the Old One in the post below made me go back to some images I downloaded a while ago for this:

The Old Dog seems to be looking for a Bridge View of a Challenger Class Ship in the Never So Few Universe. I went looking for where I found the image I am using for A Very Blue Moon. I found it at the NASA Ames site, credited to Dominick Hart. Found this one as well which with a little work on the color scheme making the shirts seem more uniform like might show the Bridge of that Challenger.

This photo is from Denver Air Traffic Control. Sure does look like we envision a spacecraft command deck.

Cover Page – A Very Blue Moon

Worth a thousand words I guess because it took that long to get it ready for posting. This is what I will use for now for the cover of the next Cardoman book.

I took what I think to be a public domain image and did a bit of photo styling. You can click on it for a slightly larger image where a few stars in the display screen come into view. I will need in time to put in the title text and of course the suggested retail price.

And yes — I have started the first chapter of ‘A Very Blue Moon’. Only got 500 words done today, would have been 1500 but like I said. – Look for it in a couple of weeks.

A Very Short Story

I finished up the story I owed the Old Dog, ‘A Matter of Judgment’. and posted it over at NSF and here in Short Stories as well. Less than a thousand words but any longer and I was pretty sure I would telegraph the ending, May have done that anyway but it does describe the aliens in the NSF Universe.

A Point of Honor is Complete

Well at least in the draft version. The epilogue to APOH was just posted. Of course you should read the book from the beginning and it starts here.

So what will I be doing next. One thing is to get some work done on the next Cardoman book A Very Blue Moon. There was a lot more I could have written in APOH but once the Old Dog decided to write a few chapters about the war on Triocat this book turned into the war on the ground and the next will become the war in space. What I didn’t say already will be a very good start for the next one once I write it down.

Before that happens I owe the Old Dog a short story for his Tales of the Interregnum. I hope to have that ready in a week or so. Then the Dog and I need to get to work on the second book of the Never so Few Universe.

Then there are the two more websites that Oldiwan just started. I have been working on them and adjusting the code so they look just so. That has been going on for a week already. One of the sites The Old Dog Barks can be seen already and is listed on the sidebar.

As I said in an earlier post, I expect a busy year

Chapter 25 is On Line

Chapter 25 of APOH is now up and that only leaves the epilogue remaining. That part of the novel is already complete but for the last editing pass. Look for it tomorrow.
